Prop and Character List
Props:
Mobile Phone
Diary
Wine/glasses
Car
Characters:
Isabelle - main character, acts as the 'victim'.
Simon - best friend - 'hero'
Ben - 'false hero'
Doctor
As it is only a short film, my list of characters is kept minimal to reduce too many things happening at once for the audience. It only lasts 5 minutes and therefore if too many characters were represented, the storyline would not make sense.

Plan for my Poster
Here I have created a plan to identify how I want my poster to look. I have researched mainstream influences to help me to plan my poster (examples below), and took into account to conventions of a typical chick flick genre poster.
Radio Trailer Plan
I have researched short film radio trailers and they have gave me a background idea about what to include in my trailer. For example, earlier in my blog I have posted the trailer for 'I'm Here' by Spike Jonze, this included clips from the short film, and also a voice over explaining the genre and title of the film.
Therefore, as this film is closely linked to mine, I plan on following this technique when creating my radio trailer. I will use Final Cut Pro and GarageBand when creating my radio trailer so I can cut clips from my original short film and create voiceovers to place into it.
I will use the music from my ending credits as the background music for my trailer as I think this reflects the genre of the film and gives a clear indication to the audience about the genre of the film.

Mainstream Influences for Ancillary Task
As the genre of my film is chick flick and romance, in my research and planning I looked for mainstream film posters that I could relate to what I wanted to create. Here are some examples which helped my design my own poster.

As the genre of these films are all romantic dramas/comedies it relates with the genre of my film and I could use the ideas from these to create my poster. To set the 'romantic' element to the poster from the film the use of the colours red and pink are used a lot which indicates the genre to the audiences. Therefore in my poster I am to use these colours as the main theme to aid the audience in what the film is about. The main characters are diplayed in all these film posters which also suggests who the important characters are and allows the audience to guess the narrative of the film. As my film is only a short film, I will try to include every character on my poster so the audience have a very clear idea of the genre and maybe a guess of the narrative.

Forms and Conventions of Short Films
Short films typically involve a small number of people and only follow a small narrative. Often they don't have a genre as they are not long enough to have a genre that typically fits to it. However, blockbuster and mainstream films follow conventions of genre and narrative which appeal to a vast range of target audiences. An example of a short film I have studied is 'Across the Hall' and this is the theatrical trailer.
When composing trailers for short films, it is very hard as the film is very short and therefore it is hard not to reveal too much to the target audience. This short film is also a very good example of what can happen for short films; it has been re-constructed to become a mainstream blockbuster film due to the popularity and success at film festivals. This means that more from the film is revealed and narrative can be fully introduced. Most often in short films they introduce hybrid genres as keeping to one genre can be difficult. Because so many things happen in a short space of time, a little may be action and some may be romance and therefore the genre has to be a hybrid to make sure the different genres included in the short can be shared with the audience. Short films follow blockbuster and mainstream films in the way of promoting themselves through film festivals. This year, the London Short Film Festival took place in January, they promoted and awarded short films for example 'Here Come the Girls' and 'London Lives'. From my example above, Across the Hall went from being a short film to becoming
